Badge

Badge was named for the markings on the left side of his fluke that look a little like a badge on a military uniform.  It is not known for certain whether Badge is a male or female.  Although Badge was first sighted in 1987, this whale has never been sighted with a calf.

.

Badge seems to enjoy getting a close look at boats.  Badge has been sighted in the years: 2005, 2003, 2002, 2000, 1997 and 1996.

How can I see more of Badge?

A Real Whale Watch Trip - August 18, 1989 ($12.95)

We left the pier at 1:45 PM and about an hour later found several humpback whales.  One was Badge who gave us a close approach.  We were sure it was Badge because his entire tail pattern was visible right beside our boat.
