Buckshot

Buckshot was named for the black round marks on her fluke.  Buckshot is a fairly social whale as she has been seen in groups of three or four other whales.  Most sightings of humpback whales are just one or two animals.

A Real Whale Watch Trip - August 13, 2001

An hour after leaving Provincetown harbor, we found several humpback whales.  One pair was identified as Buckshot and her new calf.   The calf was flippering while Buckshot was feeding on a school of fish.  This tape provides an excellent view of a mother/calf pair and their interactions.
