Glo

Glo is very easy to identify.  Notice that half of her left fluke is missing.  This happened in 1998 the same year Glo gave birth to Banyon.  Sometime after giving birth she was either involved in a ship strike or net entanglement.

Missing fluke tip

Glo is very dramatic while feeding.  She kicks the water with her tail, dives under the stunned fish and comes up with a wide-open mouth.  Glo probably eats 25-50 pounds of fish with each lunge!

A Real Whale Watch Trip - August 28, 2001

We left the pier and about an hour later found several humpback whales.  Glo was flippering with her calf, Doric.  It looked like Glo was teaching Doric how to do it!
