Salt - the star of Salt & Friends, our award-winning DVD. She is a grandmother with 12 calves and 8 grandcalves.Rocker is a champion breacher. She was named for a string of marks on her fluke that looks like spots on a giraffe's neck.Seal lobtailing which means hitting his tail on the water.  Seal was born in 1984 to Mars.

Salt's Fantastic Story

     Salt is the most photographed, most sighted and most loved humpback whale in the world!  She has been seen every year since 1976.  No one knows her exact age, but she is at least 43 or 44 years old.

Salt was the first whale given a name and treated as an individual.  Each of her twelve calves have been given a name related to her name.  Salt has eight known grandcalves.
