The best nature program in the world took fourteen years to complete.  Salt & Friends is the only program to show humpback whales as individuals, given names, with family trees including three generations and even with distinct personalities!  (Over 58 minutes of whale footage).

Meet fifteen humpback whales with names. The grand dame of all whales has to be Salt, the first humpback whale given a name. You’ll see and hear why she and others were given their names. You’ll be entertained and educated by their different personalities, their differences in feeding styles and their curiosities about people, even bringing their calves up to and under the boats!

Salt has ten calves and five grandcalves.

Regulus (nicknamed Reggie) has a unique way of flippering, he hits himself instead of the water!

Colt loves the boats so much, many times they are late returning to shore because his head is on one side of the boat and his tail is on the other side.

You'll also meet Long John Silver, the first known grandmother.  Quite a name for a grandmother, don't you think so?

We usually tell you the highlight footage on a video, the most exciting thing to see.  On this video, there are many that would qualify. We end the program with one of the most exciting breaches ever recorded.  We call it the "BULLET BREACH" below left.  See a dozen whales feeding together, Sockeye beside the boat and Thorn showing people the size of his tail!

Below left is Colt, a favorite of all whale watchers spyhopping.  Below right is a huge lunge by a feeding humpback whale.  Note the distended pleats on its throat and belly.

However, your favorite part might be Thorn the humpback blowing the most perfect rings in the water you will ever see!  This could be the rarest footage ever.

The humpback whales identified are: Salt, Sickle, Regulus, Sockeye, Meteor, Appaloosa, Thorn, Electron, Sundial, Ember, Nimbus and Zodiac. There is unbelievable breaching and group feeding. The scenes with whales under and beside the boat are indescribable.
