Fabulous sightings from each whale watching season
Each volume in this series has more exciting whale sightings and behaviors than any other program about whales! Spending 4,000 hours on the ocean each year makes this possible. Click on the year you were born
Here are just a few events that are everyone's favorites. If you want to see: A whale jumping (breaches) so close to the boat that everyone gets wet or watch as a whale named Mars blows water on people at the railing.... click on 1991. Three whales (five times larger than killer whales) breaching together (Milky Way, her calf and an escort), or watch a small humpback calf swims upside-down, slowly and gracefully over its mother.... click on 1996. Four humpback whales come up to the boat and begin singing! Colt, Icarus, Stub and one unknown are fantastic to see. You'll hear their song in what may be the only footage that exists of humpbacks singing, rolling and vying to get close to the boat.... Click on 1997. Twenty-one named humpbacks are here doing everything a whale watcher wants to see. Close breaching, huge open mouths in spectacular feeding displays and mothers showing their calves what to do......Click on 2000 A whale breaching so close to the boat that a wall of water can be see coming towards most people on the bow of the boat....Click on 2001 *********** Volumes 1-11 on DVD are $18.99 each******** Volume 1 (1991) includes the humpback whales: Olympia/calf, Mars, Salt, Ivory, Cats Paw and Onyx. See dolphins and the following large whales: finback, northern right, sperm and pilot whales. The closest breach ever is highlighted as a finale. Volume 2 (1992) includes the humpback whales: Salt, Colt, Buckshot and Nile. See white-side and white-beaked dolphins and the following large whales: finback, minke and pilot whales. See a northern right whale calf breach seven times and its mother surface right beside the boat! This tape includes the disentanglement of a very lucky dolphin. Volume 3 (1993) includes the humpback whales: Salt, Mars (breaching), Scratch, Sirius, Seal, Pepper and Turris. See the large finback and sei whales. Volume 4 (1994) includes the humpback whales: Thalassa ( Salt's 1985 calf), Anchor/calf (Anchor is Olympia's 1983 calf), Talc, Treasure, and Dash-Dot. See white-sided dolphins as well as right whales, finback and minke whales, and a large pod of pilot whales. The finale includes two spinning head breaches close to the boat. Volume 5 (1995) includes the humpback whales: Colt, Salt and Tassel. Also included are minke, fin and right whales. You'll see pilot whales, dolphins and a curious harbor seal. Breaching whales include fins, pilot and the tape concludes with the five best breaching humpbacks of the year! Volume 6 (1996) includes the humpback whales: Sirius, Olympia/calf, Salt, Colt and Bandit. The breaching on this tape is incredible. The double breaches are fantastic, but the triple breach starring Milky Way, her calf and an escort whale steal the show ( it may be the only one ever recorded). Volume 7 (1997) includes the humpback whales: Colt, Stub, Icarus, Thread and Bandit. Group feeding and double breaching steal the show. A bonus segment includes the only known recording of humpbacks singing right beside the boat. Three of the humpbacks were Colt, Stub and Icarus. Also seen are fin and minke whales, dolphins and a basking shark. Volume 8 (1998) includes the humpback whales: Salt and her seventh calf Tabasco, Pepper and calf, Bandit, Coral, Sockeye, Cardhu and calf, Nile and calf, Wizard and calf, Splice, Extreme, Glo’s calf, Putter and tremendous breaching by Seal. Volume 9 (1999) includes the humpback whales: Salt, Thalassa, Cardhu, Nimbus, Reflection, Sparta, Thread, Coral, Tear, Pisces, Zeppelin, Sockeye, Taper, Ithmus, Pallette, Ember, Giraffe, Seal, Thread and Dusky’s calf. A fin whale feeds beside the boat! Volume 10 (2000) includes the humpback whales: Rocker, Colt, Spoon, Scratch and Calf, Nile and calf, Stellar, Apex, Glo (with an impossibly wide open mouth) and Thalassa. Breaching on this tape is close to boat and nearly unbelievable. Volume 11 (2001) includes the humpback whales: Ash, Buckshot and calf, Coral, Compass, Giraffe, Grackle, Grommet, Owl and calf, Reflection, Rio, Rocker, Sockeye, Sparta and calf, Timberline, Trident and Venom. |
